It will likely come on later. I have the Fabspeed X-pipe which looks nearly identical to this and it took quite a while to come on. It will also go off again after a while on it's own. Very intermittent.

Yeah, I read about that with Fabspeed's X-pipe with HFC's. I believe they use 200-cell cats while I have no clue what aFe uses on their HFC's. Regardless, that's why I'm going to wait until multiple owners of this X-pipe have put a decent amount of miles on it to confirm whether or not it activates the CEL.

Thanks for the info! What do Fabspeed use?!?...200-cell cats as well? If so then I can see this setup tripping the CEL eventually unless they're using HFC's that are different.

There really is more to it other than cell count whether or not you get a CEL. If you get a 02 extender along with these this should keep the CEL off for quite sometime. If you don't want to get a tune just get a set of 02 extenders and maybe you get a CEL every 6 mos. I could live with that, just go get a $80 scan tool at PepBoys and be done with it.

We have tuned this setup before. It will definitely trigger an SES at some point. Make sure not to pair it with an MPE.

As of this morning my CEL finally showed up, about 5k km's (3000 miles) after install. I hope it goes away on its own, I don't want to get a tune until I have an intake installed.

Yea, I'm looking for a setup where i can swap out catless pipe and xpipe without secondary cat and resonators, therefore if i need to remove it for warranty, I can swap back the stock pipes.

Now, pair a catless x-pipe with an Akra slip-on and you'll be back on track with your original setup. Good luck!

Haha! The CEL will NOT simply "go away" on its own; sorry charlie.
