Chase. Thats what makes our hobby interesting.
Nothing is more exciting than chasing a well driven fast car and eventually overtaking it. It looked like you were slowly catching him but he would walk away on the straightaways. His corner exits were impressive. It would be interesting to see what would have happened if that red mustang gave you a point by too. He killed all of your momentum. |

Not as fast as would have liked to be. But since it was my first time at this track and there was a 2 spin rule, I was dialing it back a bit.

I have both of those cars and I can assure you that there is no comparison. The fact that you were close to him is a testament to your good driving. You had really clean lines, and a smooth driving style, and he wasn't really near any of the apexes. Keep it up!!

Thanks! The 997 GT3 is one of my favs. The M3 is more practical, but having both would be awesome!

Nice job . Those GT3s are fast machines .
And thanks for sharing , I always enjoy watching track videos, especially in the off season. I wish I could be on the track too . As an observation, on your downshifts, there seems to be a longer than expected delay from the time you engage the lower gear to when you blip the throttle and let go of the clutch. Seems to be like this on every downshift. Have you noticed this? |

my problem with that is the street is nothing like the track. im never pushing the brake pedal on the street far enough down to get it even with the gas pedal.

I wouldn't practice in heavy traffic. I would practice sat or sun morning in my neighborhood when there is no traffic. The key is to develop the footwork AND muscle memory involved with heel toe. IMO, this is a gimme. You can get heel toe down off track so you're working on something else when you are on track.

That's often the problem I have. Locking rear when threshold braking. For the most part I've worked around my lack of heal toe to the point I don't unsettle the car when I don't do it.
