VS Motorsports NASA GTS-4 Shake Down Race
Last weekend we had our first shake down race with our E92 M3. We actually did not get a chance to test it before, so our race was the test. Everything was good with the car but the set up had to be tweaked since this is a new build with new parts. Plus due to our time constraints from switching the car from SCCA T2 class to NASA GTS-4 we did not have the time to make the car at the edge of the class. This weekend we were about 200lbs over weight but we can already tell when its all set up correctly we will be flying.
The race was at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven Mi. Our fastest lap was a 1:39.2 on Sunday with some used tires. Wish we had a fresh set of BFG R1S for that race but we decided to keep those for testing when the car is at the correct weight to power ratio. So once we get the car set up we are going to Autobahn Country Club for some testing. This will be the best place for us because we can use Autobahn as a bench mark of where the car should be at. Right now we have the car back at the shop and we started the weight loss plan. All the windows are taken out to be replaced with lexan. The console taken out to remove the heater core. Plus some more and we can ballast the rest of the weight. We want to thank BFGoodrich for supplying us with the awesome R1S tires and techs at VS Motorsports for staying late and getting the car done in time. |

WHAT A FUCKING WING!! I'm extremely jealous.
Side note: Tell us about the wheel tire set up. offset, widths and tire type/style please.

Thanks one of my favorite mods too.
I do love my job. So much fun to see all the cars/race cars come in. Only downside is the temptation to buy parts for my car. Quote:
Thanks Stefan. I spy your race winner in one of the pictures. Congrats on your win in GTS-3 class. Thank you! Quote:
Thanks Mark! Thanks! Thanks Greg. Glad you were able to get us those parts last minute or I am sure we would have been stuck working on the car till the morning of the race. |

Great pictures. It's nice to start seeing E92s as club racers. I noticed you have slotted Brembos up front and the stock rotors/calipers in the rear. Do GTS-4 rules prohibit a rear BBK? How is the front-rear braking balance working out?

Thanks
We will eventually get a BBK in the rear but we have other plans for mods first. We can run any tire size we like but the BFGoodrich R1S is most likely bigger than any street tire 295 width. Plus the R1S does not come in a 295. |

At the track this past Monday with an E92 M3 on a 295 square setup on the HRE fall line 18's on toyo r888 and he says he doesn't rub. Oh and he's lowered on h&r springs. Was some crazy meat up front

Nice I would be willing to bet the BFG R1S in 285 is wider than the toyo 295. |
