Navigation DVD 2012
I just bought a Update DVD Road Map Europe Professional 2012 Disc from bmwnavi.co.uk, is there any chance of something going wrong if i was to insert the disc into the car?. The reason im asking is because i was speaking to one of the guys down at BMW and he advised me that sometimes these discs and completely corrupt the whole ECU. All Advise welcome!

The BMW inbuilt sat navs are absolutely crap, the graphics are crap and you can't even enter a postcode. A £80 tomtom is miles better. Does anyone why BMW make such crap sat navs. I've an 08 m3 coupe.

I found that the drive made very annoying whirring noises with my aftermarket disc. Mind you that was a couple if years ago. Anyone else notice this? I think the guy used low quality DVD blanks and the drive struggles to read it. Putting the old one back all us back to normal.

I've had the same problem with whirring and squeaking noises with an aftermarket disc, so I went back to the using the older original disc
Any help or advice is welcome A |

Well I wrote to the guy and asked him if he'd consider using top quality discs. Got a rather unhelpful reply saying he only used the best and had had no other complaints. Which doesn't give me the confidence to use him again.
