Need some help with tire confusion for my E90. I've read through the thread there, but I'm not seeing my answer.
PS2's are out of stock until 9/7. Great. Neither TR nor my dealer have SS in the stock rear size (265/35/19 98Y). My dealer says an option is the SS in 295/30/19, which would be about 1.5" wider. Has anyone done this and do you see any issues with this setup? Thanks |

^ yes, 4sevens runs a 295/30.
As GregW mentioned, the 265/35 is not available in North America. Another popular alternative, the 255/35 F and 275/35 R are available just about everywhere for local pick-up, as i found out today, even on a Saturday. I'll be involved in some independent testing of the PSS at Willow Springs tomorrow.

Michelin PSS after 1.2 hrs at Willow Springs Intl. Raceway...
I kept tire pressures to ~40 psi hot.
I put 300 easy "break-in" miles prior to tracking, running OEM wheels & suspension. The weather was warm but not that hot; ambient ranged between 73-88 deg F, asphalt temp was ~103F.

12mm spacers rub with 275/35/19s in the rear. I have stock suspension on 220s and they rub when the cars drives over any bumps, even without passengers.

Where did you experience rubbing in the rear? I had a one time hairline rub on at the inside edge of the rear bumper cover with 12mm spacers & 359's on stock ZCP suspension that was a non issue. The wheels stuck out too far for my liking. I'm happy with 5mm rears on my 275/35/19's these days.

Do you guys think this will work for my LMR 245/30/20 and 285/30/20? I'm planning on purchasing new tires soon.

+1. The rubber bits will wear off soon enough... they look like most any tire that was run 1.5hours on the track and still look to have a lot of tread depth... having said that I'm not an expert.

^ Nothing negative was said...
I was simply posting a couple of photos showing the tire after a few heat cycles. P.S. For those that care: tire pressures were kept ~40 psi hot. Sometimes I just don't get this forum...I guess it's time for a sabbatical.

sorry for my English))
I had a problem after put rear PSS 275\35\19(I have passed only 30 miles), front didn't change PS2 245\35\19. Earlier when was rear PS2 265\35\19 the car was steered as go-cart racing)) now it seems that are wheels 275\70 and I go on a jeep.when i steer the car aggressively rear right left as trees shake on a wind (( Question: 1) It is a problem of in front stand 245\35 instead of 255\35? 2)This no problem- this feeling from PSS? 3)275\35 side high 265\35 - change to 275\30? |

I have front PS2 245/35/19 and rear 265/35/19 PSS and the combination is brilliant. You have to give the new tyres more time to settle in...also be sure you have the rear tyres at the correct tyre pressure, if the pressures are low the rear of the car will feel loose. |

I can comment that 295 19's was faster than 275 18's at road atlanta by 4 seconds. So whatever gains from lighter weight was outweighed by more grip from the 295's and less sidewall. |
