Who makes the OEM Manual transmission?
Sorry if its been asked before but google failed me ( maybe I used the wrong search terms ). Anyway, does anyone know who is the oem manufacturer of the manual tranny in our M3 E92s ? Thanks

I think its Getrag..The trans number starts with a "G" (GS6-53DZ - TJGC)
but also found this ..BMW Trans.pdf from pg.5: BMW transmissions are manufactured by two suppliers for the US market: • Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen: Commonly referred to as ZF. ZF manufactures both manual and automatic transmissions. • GM Powertrain - Hydramatic: Hydramatic is a manufacturing division of General Motors located in Strasbourg France. Hydramatic supplies automatic transmissions to BMW for four and six-cylinder vehicles. |

Getrag or ZF, you can't go wrong. I've had both in BMW manual form in 4 years and like both.
