Looking for: Aux water pump install
I been searching but maybe I'm not searching for the right things. I'm looking for a DIY for the auxiliary water pump. I threw a code this weekend and it led me to:

I have changed the aux pump last year,
because of the same error you have: 00A6D1 Partnumber is: 64118369806 You will finde the Pump near the Firewall of the Driversside (LHD). After you have removed the Airfilterbox you can see the pump. Remove the connector on top and the two waterhorses (i used two clamps, so no need to fill up coolingwater). Al in all very easy and max. 1 hour of work. |

The Rest button enabled the pump with ignition off, but in our case one have to have it on anyways correct? The pump is a good $300 over here so starting to wonder whether I actually want to replace it as I don't see the point with it... You? |

Another "use case" - even without the Rest function - could be during stop/start, maybe. Coded this our long ago so in my case do diff. Thanks again though. My fan rarely stays on after turn off (Nordic climat, rarely over 25C Summer... ), but will definitely keep this in mind as possible reason to get a new pump. Cheers, Nik |

Another funny input on this strange pump of mine; had a chat with the dealer thinking of order one still. They checked my vin and said my car should not have one installed. But it has... Ah well, maybe I'll replace it one of these days.

Thread bump A long time ago in my 2012 (Nov '11 build) E92 M3 I used Carly to add Rest button ventilation. At about this time this error code appeared and I've ignored since. Interestingly I've just gone back in to remove the code but Carly reports the option as not renamed, i presume at some time at dealer they did a full flash and removed the rest coding. Does anyone know which properties in INPA relate to REST option so I can check the option is fully removed? Also does anyone know if it's possible to verify if the pump from this thread present without dismantling the air box? Where am I looking for it exactly? (Any engine bay photos maybe)? Thanks Chris |

I'd suspect its possible to take a peek beside the filterbox. If not its obviously easy to remove it. The aux pump is just below: |
