Smile I placed my E90 M3 order yesterday!!! WOO HOO!!!

Only 6 weeks after picking up an E90 335i M Sport ive decided to give it to my 'better' half.

Yesterday i placed an order for a new E92 M3....! Expected September delivery!

Im soooo excited!

I know its still very early but im already thinking about spec...

I wonder if there will be any colours just for the M3?

Im definatly going to have the new SMG 'box, and also the ceramic brakes, i hope them CSL wheels make production. if not i would like to see BMW make some 20" alloys for the M3.

Roll on september!!!

BMW: Please put the carbon fibre roof into production! Pleeeease!

I'm sorry to say that, but the DSG transmission is said to be delayed till anytime next year. So you will have to choose: either september delivery with the manual or DSG/SMG and wait till next year.

There will be some m specific colours, but don't know yet which.

Best regards, south

Anyway, congrats!

Southlight, you seem to know so much about what's going on.....do you work for BMW AG??????

And yes for all those that want something other than an 6speed manual you will have to wait for the 09' M3. Just like the E46 M3 1st year was manual only so it will be with this car.........

No dealers are placing orders nor have official specs yet. Maybe you placed a deposit, that is different. I'm 99% sure we will not have ceramic brakes on the new M3 as well. Latest estimates place the car in the US in early 2008. Don't get too excited.

my dealer is 100% sure that ceramic brakes and the DSG gearbox will be avaliable as options from lauch... (they were for the M5 / M6 after all)

They may be wrong, time will tell.

If Evo are guessing that no cars will be delivered till next year, i wonder why BMW will launch the car in september and not deliver any til 4 or 5 monthes after the launch date.

maybe what Evo mean is that if you order now the waiting list is already stretching into next year....

Rochester, Hi you're not far from myself (Maidstone). Did your dealer tell you where on the list you were? since i stuck my deposits 2 months and 6 months back and will be lucky to get delivery this year if they start making these things in September.

I've been on the waiting list since Sept 06 and I've been told early 2008 delivery is most likely. May skip my allocation, though if no SMG or DSG is availble from start!

I've thought about doing this but I can't wait any longer, the uncertainty is driving me crazy. If BMW does this its going to be a huge mistake they should release both at the same time so it appeals to everyone....

So you gettting a manual?

The last thing I want to do is get caught up in the exicitement and get a 6 speed manual so I can be first the first or one of the first people to own the beast around my area!

I agree. I hope it will not be necessary to pass on my spot!

That is even a bit of a misnomer

They will neither be ceramic nor advanced engineering composite (carbon). They will be composite in the sense that the hub is aluminum and the rotor is either cast iron or steel and they are pinned together. This has been around at BMW least as far back as Euro E36 M3. Ceramic pads may be an option. True ceramic composite (meaning ceramic combined with other materials) brakes are available on many P-cars.

Sure would have been cool if these were to come on the new M3 but I'd bet my car they won't.
