New Battery -- Use the Tender?

Good afternoon all, I did some digging and couldn't find anything in regards to my specific question.

I recently had my battery replaced and I'm curious on thoughts for keeping it on a battery tender while it's new. My car is driven daily for school drop off and then a couple errands here or there, averaging about 10-15 miles per day. I'm thinking I should put it on the tender to lengthen the life of the battery, but just wanted to crowd source some opinions.

For what it's worth, I use a CTEK tender.

Yep, use the tender even on a new AGM E9X M3 battery.

I use a tender regularly on all my vehicles and get around 8-9 years of battery life. As a side note, I just bought a Clore Pro-Logix PL2320 battery charger /power supply. I am now using that to top up charge my batteries and also as a power source when scanning with ISTAD. Seems to be working very well.

Last battery lasted 13 years. Tender every winter.

Your daily mileage is pretty low. I would keep it on a tender.

My last battery (BMW) lasted 13 years as well! My car is always on the tender due to low use. I just checked my maintenance records for my MY2009.

Original battery replaced under warranty - 2012
Replacement BMW battery replaced by me - 2025
