DCT Worn Clutches? Thoughts?
UPDATED
Hey all! My 2009 has 115K miles on it, and now looks like the DCT is being wonky. I discovered last year it was flaring up when going from 1-2 gear and felt like it was slipping. This year, I had a shop do the following work:
Shop will try next:
Shop and I are suspecting worn clutches could be the cause. 1-2 still flaring up and looks like even 3-4 sometimes. I haven’t seen many people talk about this kind of issue. Thoughts? Updates posted below UPDATE 1 Ended up sourcing a 88K mile DCT with a 90 day warranty. GTS tune made the car even worse, which I was surprised as others I’ve heard in the past would say it supposed to make the DCT better “but what do I know”. UPDATE 2 Picked up the car today, 4/2/26. Car seems to be okay sometimes. Revs will flare up here and there, but jolts/buckles hard when coming to a stop or when start moving again from stationary. Looking forward to this replacement trans.

BajanDCT The chatter was a lot when at idle or low speeds. I would drown it out with music. I do a lot of roadtrips and have passengers, it would get old really quick and they always thought the car was broken. I had my rear main seal done and figured might as well now let’s go back to stock. Already sold the flywheel to someone who’s building a time attack E92. I don’t see much track time so it’s perfect for the other individual.
