Throttle Actuator Cores (M Power Motorsports)

Hi there,

I hope all is well with everyone here. I have a friendly request for all of you. If you purchase units from ///M Power Motorsports, please return the cores back in time. The only way we can keep the prices for these units so low is because we need the cores so we can turn them around for other customers. We have lost so many cores due to customers not sending them back to us. WE HAVE YOUR MONEY from the core charge and want you to get your money back. So if you still have our units, please ship them back to us ASAP.

This also results in shipping delays as we have to wait for cores to get back and keep the cycle going. If I don't see a change in the turnaround time for core returns, I'm going to have to either increase the prices for the units or double the core charge. Apparently, the $100.00 core charge is not enough of an incentive to return it on time.

Finally, if any of you have cores lying around, PM, and I can buy them from you.

Abdul

Agree. Increase the core charge and you will likely get better turnaround times.

I may have to do this. But some people have a hard time leaving $100.00 as a core charge. That's what's making me think about this. But maybe it's the only option I have.

A core charge is completely acceptable (whichever amount you deem fit), as that is money that will be returned. The higher the core charge, the more cores you will get back.

Consider implementing a tiered core charged. If not returned within x number of weeks, core charge is double/tripled/whatever.

that doesn't work -- you've gotta collect the money up front, or it's no easier to chase than the core itself.

I think what he is saying is that if the core is $100 and say you have a month to turn it in, if you go more than a month you will only get $75, and so on.

Either way, many will choose to keep them, certainly if they were replaced as preventative rather than after a failure. Things that fail with little or no warning are good to keep spares laying around.

To echo others I don't think it is out of line to triple or even quadruple your core charge Abdul. It's just a hold on a credit card.

I'm seeing used working actuators on eBay for $250 - $300 each, and dead actuators going for $100 each. The thought of people flipping their used actuators instead of returning them bothers me.

Don't undervalue your service. I'm at 57,000 miles and was planning on getting actuators through you guys this winter as a preventative maintenance item and would happily pay $500 for a core deposit.
