Which Small BMW Has Leaked - F52 1 Series Sedan LCI or Next Gen G42 2 Series Coupe?

Not sure if this is real, but it looks like an updated 1 Series sedan, possibly a new M135i model.

Looks more like a coupe, but hard to tell. Heard it might be the new G42, but this appears more likely to be FWD than RWD, IMO. Hard to tell For sure though.

This would be a poor design for the G42 since it will continue as a RWD driver's coupe.

That would be my first guess - F52 LCI.

Edit: after studying pictures of the current F52, I am nearly certain this is indeed the LCI for that car. I would not be surprised if they were to add an M135i, but this could also just be the M Sport model.

I'm quickly loosing track of what's what. Do we still have 1-series? Is the 1-series now a sedan? 2-series coupe and 2-series grand coupe or is this another 2-series version?

This is the 1 Series sedan, which is sold only in China, Mexico, and a few South American countries.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_1_Series_(F52)

https://www.bmw.com.cn/zh/all-models...9/inspire.html

There is also a 1 Series hatchback which is not sold in the US either.

Leaning with you (LCI or variant) after visiting bmw.com.mx but uncertain because it seems like original poster would know.

The 1 series is a hatch back in Europe and other parts of the world. It's roughly Ford focus size. It's recently gone from RWD (F20/F21) to FWD/AWD. (G chassis) sharing its platform with the Mini's also very visually similar to the new 2 series gran coupe which is based on the same FWD platform.

As the other commenter said there is a 1 series sedan in emerging markets - China, South America

Just looked at some pictures of the F52.If this an LCI for that car than it would be a huge styling change for an LCI.This car has totally different headlights and taillights. The front and rear bumpers are also a different design. It also looks like this car has a different rear trunk design. This car also looks like a coupe.Isn’t the F52 only available as a sedan?

Or an E90 3 Series with one of the many terrible aftermarket taillights that became available during its production run.

Although not as common in recent years, BMW has often made major changes to LCI models, including all new lighting.

The F52 is a sedan, yes, and that’s what this looks like to me.

Agree this is a total change if the 1er sedan. 100% improvement too.

No. I’m confused why you’d think so. The picture you posted clearly shows a test mule spy shot, not a production car.

The rear looks more coupe-ish to me, but the front throws me off. The pictures were taken at a funny angle too.

Aren't we expecting the next 2-series coupe to have vertical grilles, I thought one of the forum insiders mentioned that about the next M2?

Makes infinitely a lot more sense than guessing it was the G42 - no way BMW was going to recycle a design into a new model, especially for a car like the 2 Series.
