Would be interesting to see what this fetches on BaT. The only 540i that ever went for near this much ($54k) was a single owner 2003/2k miles US spec that had the more desirable M sport package.

Agreed on more desirable M package. But i do love Non vanos engine vs later 540’s 1998.5 and up. They tend to have more issues and are more complicated to maintain.

Amazing example of one of the best cars ever made.

But this is also kind of depressing and exactly why you should not listen to everything Dave Ramsey says. This poor owner bought this amazing car as a retirement present to himself...and he barley even drove it. That's a shame. I wish he had bought this and put 200,000 miles on it. Enjoy life for Christs sake!

I know.
I am kind of scared driving it as any scratches/dents even rain counts as of today
But love that it is pre vanos but too bad not M package as found in later models.
