BMW i4 Order Tracking

Hi,

Forgive me If this is not the right forum for posting this but I’ve got a new i4 on order through an EV salary sacrifice scheme at work.

I’ve been tracking the order status with the genius team but I feel things have got a bit stuck.

My order status is 190 as of Monday gone (20th July) and I’m being told it is on its way to Cuxhaven and the destination port will be Immingham. I’ve also been given a carrier load number. However there’s been no further movement since. The last genius I spoke to has insinuated that the logistics team only updates the statuses weekly. So does that mean it could be on a ship heading for the UK and the tracking status is behind?

The estimated handover is w/c 10th August and I’m being told there are no delays.

This is the first time I’ve ordered a brand new car so trying to understand what the next steps are. Is there a chance I could receive the new car before the estimated date?

The order also crosses over when my current car insurance expires (30th of this month). The EV scheme provides car insurance so trying to avoid a situation where I need to take out a new policy and the cancel it a couple of weeks later but that’s looking very likely.
