Trouble installing OHC steering wheel
I installed the OHC steering wheel, attached a picture of what it looks like.
I wired the left side steering wheel controls in with the power cable on the left wide connections so the controls on the wheel work, the issue I’m running into is the led display is not on and the ohc box lights blue on and off on car startup for maybe 3 seconds and then stays off. Hoping a fellow forum member has completed the installation and can help me out with some directions. Ohc isn’t very helpful. So far just plugged the obd2 box into the ond2 and that’s it Last edited by jr8896; 11-02-2020 at 06:26 PM.. |

these things are junk, return it or throw it away. I installed one for someone a few months ago, worst electrical installation of my life. take it back to whoever sold it to you and have them install it, prepare yourself to be chasing battery drain issues.

Got ya I appreciate that, I will still be running it for the sole reason that my friend has one and everything is working out well it’s been about a year, if you could I’d just like some help with the setup as I’ve already purchased it. I work with electronics but I’m no mechanic so while I’m comfortable with connecting wires I am not with taking things apart I don’t have to too figure this out lol.

In your second picture you do not have the ground wire connected to a ground in the harness. I assume you have grounded that? Just an observation, not out for your $50 bounty.
Second observation, did you tap that red + wire into a 12 volt positive lead? It looks like it is tapped into the ground wire that connects to the metal plate in the wheel.

I checked which pin had a 12v supply and wired the red to that cable and have power to the left side controls so it worked. The ground I attached to the steering wheel ground and when I turned the car on the horn would instantly go off until it died out. I removed the ground and assumed the ground from the ride side controls would be shared unless I am wrong. Also I very much appreciate your input I really do I’m trying to get this thing to light up |

I added a picture where the yellow marking shows where I first connected the ground.
The green is where I will be merging the wires unless someone steps in to tell me I’m doing it wrong lol. |

are you connecting it to the 12v+ on the horn wire? There is also a signal that turns it on, when I installed this I tapped that turn on source from the connector on the szl switch unit. you will need to use a power probe to determine what the correct turn on wire is.

Last two pictures are the wiring harness on clock spring, anyone have a wiring diagram? I have a power cable from the obd2 and have to find a place to add a pin too so I can get power through the wheel. Someone? Anyone?

Yes, the obd2 harness has a white wire that wire has to go from the obd2 to one of the wiring harnesses under the steering wheel and tap the wire in there, then tap the power cable from the wheel to the same wire on the inside of the steering wheel to get power.
If anyone needs help I can direct them. |
