Girodisc vs Paragon
I need to get some new “rings”. I’m replacing some Stoptech 380x35 rotors.
I’m either going with Girodisc or Paragon. Does anyone have any experience w either? Girodisc is $900 Paragon is $720 |

A lot of people track with the various rotor options available on the f8x, f87 and f87 Comp from Girodisc and Paragon. Girodisc and Paragon rotors are used on CCB/2NH Front 400x36 mm (there’s also a custom machined hat and caliper mounting brackets to run 380x36 front rotors so 18” wheels can be used) and rear 380x30 mm setups, and the Blue front 380x30 mm and rear 370x24 mm setup. I’d guess it’s probably 70/30 on Girodisc vs. Paragon mainly because Girodisc was first to market. Also, FCP Euro offers Girodisc rotors so you can get replacements through their warranty program (not sure they carry StopTech rotors). There is a group of people running Paragon’s e9x M brake kit as well as stock 370 mm and 360 mm replacement rotors from both companies. Both brands have extensive track use so you should be fine with either option but, if I had to choose one, I’d go with Girodisc because they’ve been on the market longer.

Very happy with Girodisc rotor rings for my ST60. They can also resurface the rings if you pay for shipping there and back, for example if you have a severe pad deposit issue.
Because nobody else makes the rotor hats for the ST60 and the E9x M3, I "special" ordered rotor rings, rotor hats, and a new caliper bracket from Paragon that will be here sometime in the new few weeks. Took about 2 months to produce plus shipping. I can post an update once it's installed and went through a weekend at Road America at the end of September.

I'm running Paragons on my E90, and Girodiscs on my G82. Certainly not an apples to apples comparison because of the different car dynamics, but they seem wholly equivalent and I should've stuck with the Paragons when upgrading the G82.

Almost forgot... For the Paragon rotor rings, I do not think they include the attachment hardware. The prices are a little bit closer together when you include them.
They are also not interchangeable in some cases. I attached Girodisc rotor rings with Paragon hardware to the StopTech hat. Girodisc mentioned that some of the bolts are not the right size for their rotor rings and recommended using their hardware with their rings.

Just because I’m swapping rings now — Paragon replacement rings do come with new bolts/washers, just not new bobbins. They say bobbins can be reused if not visibly worn/rusty, bolts are single use.
