Squeaky Brakes in Cold Temps? Anyone?
Ever since the weather here in Toronto came down to close to freezing points and below, my brakes squeak from time to time. Sometimes it squeaks a lot (60km/h to 0 km/h) and others times just when Im completed my stop (10km/h to 0 km/h).
I asked my BMW Tech (shop foreman) and he says he has a had a few complaints about squeaky brakes on the E9x M3s ever since the cold weather hit. But I havent heard anything on the forum, but I suppose I will now! BTW, he says that on the E46 M3 (ONLY WITH COMPETITION PACKAGE), the brakes were different from the standard M3 and they were very similiar to the standard brakes we get on the E9x M3s and those E46 w/ competition package ALSO had squeaky brakes when the cold temps hit! Just curious to see if anyone else has this problem...

I Am Starting To Have The Same Problem As The First Snowfall Hit Us Last Week. Right Now The Outside Temperature Is -7 During Daytime And Yes The Brakes Are Making Noise When I Come To A Stop At The Lights Everytime.

Yah i dont think it has much to do with the weather. i live in so cal whr it is always warm and it just sqeaks at low speeds when completeing my stop when i am light on the breaks. When i took in my car for the 1200 mile service i asked about the brakes the dealer said to deal with it, and it mught be because i wasnt driving the car hard enough yet and the brakes were not braking in properly...so i guess the solution is drive harder and brake harder
