Titanium exhaust cleaning tips
Guys,
In order to keep Akrapovic system (or any other titanium parts) in good shape, I have spent around $200 on different cleaning products. I talked to guys from Detailer's Domain and Detailed Image and got some very useful information, but still wasn't satisfied with the results. After cleaning some stuff in my garage, I found a can of NEVR-DULL that I bought 5y ago. This is all what you need to clean your metal parts. I will post some pics after I get it dirty again so you can see the difference |

Following the suggestions of many motorcycle and car guys (even some posts right here on the forum) I have tried and liked the results from plain old WD-40. Smells bad but only during cleaning and then for a day or two.

Use it just like any cleaner but no rinse should be done. Spray it into a rag, rub (shoe shine style works well) the tips and the main body if you like. I try to keep the WD-40 on the rag and exhaust not on the car. I doubt it is corrosive or damaging in any way but no need to get in on waxed body parts. Try to keep any other greasy or oily things from touching the exhaust including your finger prints. The heat can sort of imprint those into the exhaust.

Reviving an old thread. Are there any components of the exhaust system that should NOT be cleaned w/ WD-40 or Nevr-Dull?

I love P21S Polishing Soap for exhaust tips. I only use Nevr Dull or 0000 steel wool for the most stubborn burnt-on carbon.
