What Tires?
Hey folks, I'm a complete noob/novice and I plan to track my M3 for the first time this coming year. I'm looking for tires to pair with my 18x10.5 et 22 Apex VS-5RS's. I'm pretty set on a 200 treadwear tire. This is not my daily but I do plan to drive the car on nice days and will do mostly backroads, TotD, type drives. Maybe 3-5 HPDE's this year is what I'd like do. At this time, I don't think I will use this set of wheels/tires as a track-only setup but I may in the future. (not sure if I want to sell my 359m reps in 19x10, 19x11 with MpS4S).
What's a good tire that won't break the bank and won't die after 3 track days w/ a somewhat aggressive street but mild track alignment (F -2.7, R -2.0 I think)? I was looking at the Nankang CR-S and Falken RT660+.

My Opinion: You really shouldn’t be on 200TW tires if this is your first time.
And the camber you’re planning isn’t enough for 200TW anyway, you’d need around -3 to -4 up front. The rear setup is fine. For a first track day, I’d go with something like the ECS02, or if you want a little more grip, the Goodyear SC3. Still, the ECS02 is the better call if this is truly your first time. You’ll build proper technique and habits. Jumping straight to 200TW just masks mistakes.
