BMW Canada Mechanical Breakdown Protection

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I have a 2025 Z4 arriving at the end of March. I am looking for feedback from those who considered or purchased BMW Canada Mechanical Breakdown Protection. I would prefer that we keep this thread on topic and that we do not go down the “rabbit hole” about the merits of buying the protection vs. keeping the $$$ until or/if the repair is needed.

My local dealer is offering the Platinum Plan at 84 months/100,000 km for $4,439 and the 84 months/120,000 km for $4,764. For both plans they are offering a $500 discount to the prices I have listed above.

What type of prices are your dealers providing? Have you had any issues with the denial of any claims?

Thanks,

Why not wait until you are near of your original warranty and see if you still want to still keep the car instead of paying for it now?

Thanks. I am already part of the G29 owners group on the forum. I posted here hoping to get a larger Canadian audience.

Re buying it now or later. Just looking at all my options. I have found with some brands you have a little more room to negotiate a lower price at time the of purchase vs. 2-3 years later. Its all about trying to find a balance.

Update…. for those in Canada here is a reference point re pricing of the BMW extended warranty…

For the 100,000 km / 84 months Premium plan the staring price was $4,764 (plus tax). After a 5 minute discussion the dealer offered the plan for $3,464 (plus tax). A $1,300 discount. I left with my new Z4 and told the finance guy I would think about it. All values are in Canadian dollars.

Can you tell the name of the dealer as my dealer in Calgary has quoted $9,000 for 3 yr/120K kms with $500 deductible on 2022 X5. I may contact your dealership to get a quote.
