Question about ESS VT1 550 part

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I bought used kit from someone and I noticed this part of the Manifold. Does anybody what is this for? I have checked couple of pictures of ESS 550 manifold and this part doesn't exist.

Would this cause a problem if I leave it like that?

it's probably a fitting to connect a sensor to record manifold pressure for an AEM boost gauge

You can unscrew it and then get a fitting to plug the hole from a hardware store

Tap and bolt with thread seal. Or fill the hole with epoxy, glue.
