Disabling Power Steering

OMG...The wire which is located on the driver side wheel well was shredded by probably some road debris, and so for the longest time, my steering wheel felt heavier. For long stretch of time, I was not driving the car daily and found it strange that my steering wheel was so difficult to turn when moving at slow speeds, however, the connection to the road felt so much better.
It wasn't until I was swapping out brake pads when I noticed that the wires were shredded and reconnected. Now that my steering wheel is lighter, I have the urge to purposely cut the wires. Anyone else experience this?

This isn't disabling power steering, as it's a hydraulic power steering system. That wire/connection in the driver side wheel well enables the servotronic steering to reduce effort at low speeds. Basically it just allows the steering to be very light and easy in parking lots/low speed situations. It does make the steering heavier in general, but especially at low speeds, when that connection in the wheel well is broken or unplugged.

If you like it better in the heavier mode, just unplug the connection, don't cut the wires lol...
