▀▄▀▄ Perfecting the Iconic 359M - Richland Forged ZSPEC Release ▀▄▀▄

Richland Forged is pleased to unveil our latest special project, the "ZSPEC" tuner spec wheelset, to the Bimmerpost enthusiast community.

One of the most popular and iconic wheel designs ever released by BMW, the 359M wheel was available on the coveted ZCP Competition Package on the e92 m3 platform. Interestingly, although the package was offered on a performance oriented basis, the construction of the 359M wheelset was curiously undermined by cast construction that resulted in a notably heavy wheel. In traditional fashion, the intrinsic offsets and selected width are deemed conservative by the tuner community and certainly left much on the table in terms of stance and support for upsized tire preference.

Of course, there have been several attempts over the years to supplement the perceived deficiencies of the original 359M design, to pursue an improved stand-in, to various degrees of success and pitfall.

In the vein of our relentless pursuit of perfection in our support of the true enthusiast, we are very proud to realize our efforts towards the ultimate tuner solution through the release of the “ZSPEC”, the new e92 ///M3 performance standard. The first 100% fully forged tuner-centric solution with inspiration basis of the original iconic 359M. The project focused on several primary design goals including:
  • transforming fundamental construction
  • providing ideal offset/fitment
  • pinpointed visual accuracy in the details
  • enhancing aesthetic/reveal where it matters
  • increasing barrel capacity in lieu of compatibility with essentially all e92 big-brake packages
This is the competition wheel BMW should have made from the jump!

🔧Tuner offsets/widths: 19x9.5" et+22/19x10.5" et+22
🔧Fully forged construction
🔧6061-T6 aluminum Diet: 2.3lbs front, 3.5lbs rear lighter than the original
🔧Enhanced concavity: 16mm deeper "bowl" depth
🔧Massive caliper clearance: +22mm additional headroom
🔧Pavement destroyer: Available with Knurled Bead Seats
🖌️Full array of finishing options including an extremely accurate formulation of the classic "Hyper Silver"

As design of this particular project and other related offerings came about through refinement and feedback Bimmerpost community, Richland Forged proudly offers incentives exclusive to forum members. Bimmerpost members are eligible for $175 discount on a purchase of any of our wheelsets. Members may use PM to acquire your individual member discount code. Random question (possibly a dumb question). What is the "Clean Freak" finish matched wheel cap? Any pics?

It is a completely smooth wheel cap. If you look at the last picture on the GT4 wheel set page, there is an image of it.

Our "Clean Freak" wheelcaps are a finish matched center cap, meant for an "extra clean" seamless aesthetic. A few photos for reference attached...

All our designs are tested to meet and exceed standards set forth by JWL/VIA, DOT-T, and SAE J2530. Additionally independent testing and qualification in coordination with U.S. testing laboratories and real-world track performance has been established for internal quality conformance and redundancy. Our manufacturing facility, which does happen to be overseas, is also a prime manufacturer for several OEM's in the U.S, and OEM "performance divisions", and furthermore a prime for a German OEM for subsets of factory wheelsets. Furthermore, we are proud to share we have never had a single reported instance of structural failure/deficiency in any set we have ever produced, a true real life testament!

Our ZSPEC absolutely will clear the carbon ceramics with ease, and with great overhead. Our Piano Black is a very deep black of course finished in gloss, which would be akin to BMW's OEM black. You may be inquiring specifically to the e92, but albeit not on our site, in case you are running an f80, we also have a setup specifically for that platform on our ZSPEC. The same 19x9.5 et22 works great on both platforms, but the f80/f82 needs a less aggressive offset for optimal fitment.

That would be our "Matte Black" finish, which in reality is a bit closer in the realm to a true satin.

Agreed! The 359M is one of BMW’s best looking oem wheel design. Classic BBS style with just the right amount of concavity. It’s great to see that Richland Forged offers wider versions with good offsets and a bit more concavity.
