Driving home today and sudden loss of power and I get this...
http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/re...40d3g.jpg.html] I was about 15kms away from home and was able to get home without going over 2000rpm.... Not that it would let me go over. Once I get home I turn the car off and turn it back on. Redline goes back to normal range with warmed up engine. I drive it around the block and everything is back to normal. Anyone know what this could be? This is my dd and my biggest fear is calling the dealership and they won't be able to look at the car for a few days and I make things worse. This happen to anyone before and what was the culprit. I was able to go to my friends garage and have him scan for codes. Came up as 'brake booster vacuum leak' my brakes seem to be working fine so not sure if it's related. Would problems with the brakes put the car in limp mode?

I'm guessing an issue with the brakes would put the car in to limp mode, as I'm sure BMW would be found liable if there was an issue with the brakes (read:high speed brake failure / resulting crash) and they did nothing to warn/prevent the driver from getting to that situation.
