Hey OT
I qualify for an upgrade. I currently have a BB and looking to move to either an IPhone or Thunderbolt or Incredible 2. Any suggestion ?? |

If you're in an LTE area, it's night and day the difference between LTE and 3G. To get stuck in another two year contract with a 3G phone at this point in time would be, IMO, a bad move (provided you're in an LTE supported area of course).

If that's not a priority, then you should go with the phone that you feel most comfortable with, whether that be an iPhone, Android, BB, or *gasp* WP7. If you like the physical keyboard and BB layout, you should be aware that the Bold Touch (basically a Bold 9000 form factor with a touch screen) will be out in July/August for VZW. And its hardware specs are NOT typical Blackberry. 1.2 GHz Snapdragon, 768MB RAM, HD video recording, and thinner than the 9000.... |

Same dilemma and had to choose Thunderbolt to get on VZ's LTE 4G bandwagon 2 weeks ago. Huge difference from 3G. When outside, browsing the web on the phone is faster than my PC at home. Switching from BB to Android has its learning curve but it's not too bad. It's getting easier. BTW, VZ's 4G network was down all day yesterday. The reception was shitty but you could still make and receive calls OK. So the network is not iron clad yet and I am sure with more subscribers pouring in, it will be having difficulty accommodating the load from time to time. |

i've been using the Thunderbolt for a couple months now after having ATT for over a decade. I can't really compare the Thunderbolt with the Iphone4 since I've had the regular 3G for the past 2 years but the 3G network and 4G LTE is no comparision. 4G is fast as hell. I never have to use my wifi. I'm not sure how fast the 4G network is on Sprint but on Verizon it's fast.
The major fail thing about the phone is the battery life. With normal use I'll get about 4-5 hours before it dies. They came out with an extended battery recently that has about double capacity but it'll make your phone a little fatter in the back. I'm waiting for it to get back in stock and when it does I plan on getting it b/c the battery life is absolute crap with the standard battery. I was at mfest last weekend and I bought an extra standard battery to hold me over since I'd be out most of the day and I had to pop the second battery in each day. I used to carry a charger on me just in case before I had the second battery. But other than that I'm happy with the performance of the phone and the network (minus yesterday when the 4G service was oout of service nationwide for the Thunderbolt users on verizon). I have a usb charger at work, a home charger, and a car charger. There is a way to toggle off the 4G network to use 3G by accessing a secret menu but I don't see the point in having a 4G phone if you're going to do that. I guess if you're running at less than 10 percent battery you can turn off 4G until you can get the phone onto a charger |

^^ No chance of getting a higher MaH without the battery being thicker? I know on my G2, the normal is ~1300mAh but I picked up a 1800MaH. No size difference. They did have a 3000+mAh but that doubled the size of the battery and used a way big back plate to cover.

I have the Incredible and have the extended battery. I'm coming from the Blackberry Storm, so this is like night and day. I'm really happy with the Incredible. It's a great phone and had a TON of ways to customize it. But an extended battery is a must. I think when I'm available for an upgrade (not till January), I'll see what other 4g options are out there, but might go with the Thunderbolt.

what's the standard on the thunderbolt, or is it already that high? Would think it would be closer to 1200. A nice little jump up does help and provides a 2nd battery when in need, for rather cheap.

Only had the one, but probably wiped the thing clean at least 5 times maybe more. Also managed to pay retail for it, that's the last time I fuck my own ass. |

^The Incredible is such a better phone. This is the first time in a while I've actually been satisfied with a phone.
