Fifth Gear: E90 M3 6MT vs. IS-F (spoilers)
This weeks fifth gear put the e90 M3 with 6MT against the Lexus IS-F in a few challenges. Tiff Needle was driving the M3 and Jason Plato was driving the IS-F throughout the entire competition.
First is a lap at speed around a track. E90 M3: 1:19.7 IS-F: 1:19.84 Winner: E90 M3 by 0.14 seconds. The second test was the "girl fun and comfort test". This test basically consisted of each respective driver taking 3 girls around a lap of a track in either car. The 2 girls in the back seat would measure comfort and the girl in the front seat had a heatbeat monitor strapped to her to measure her pulse. The IS-F went first with the lot of girls and scored a 131 on the heatbeat monitor. The M3 went second and scored a 132 wit the help of a few donuts at the end. So the test really wasn't that scientific however the girls were asked directly which car was more comfortable and which was more fun. They quite full heartedly chose the M3 as the best in both instances. There was also a race pitting a Nissan GT-R against a 911 turbo. The outcome should be fairly obvious, but for anyone not certain the GT-R won by half a second.

Honestly, I cringe whenever the presenters are talking. They just seem like they are trying too hard, this season worse off more than ever for some odd reason. Too metrosexual for a car show, imho.
But you can't argue that just watching the cars being driving hard is worth it.

Don't even watch American top gear. Also, don't watch the bastardized BBC America Top Gear (shortened by over 20min). I download the shows as they come out from BBC UK.

i agree with every statement. american top gear is going to be more about entertainment than cars i have a feeling. its too bad clarkson, hammod, and may can't do the american version! as far as acquiring my top gear's...torrents FTW!

I read an article about the US Top Gear pilot that was filmed over a month ago. Many diehard Top Gear fans showed up to part of audience. The same people that were on the internet shooting the show down before it has aired. They were interviewed after the taping of the show by independent sources. They all were very impressed with the show and gave it thumbs up. Will it be as good as the original UK version, no. But I welcome any car show in the US, because everything we have sucks a big one. |

I despise the Fifth Gear presenters - I agree that they get way too excited about stupid things and just over react to everything, but I'm going to have to download that when I get home just so I can see the girls... They look good
