Anyone know gauge settings for Oil PSI and Water Temp?
Hey guys, I have a 2008 E92 M3 with the ESS VT625 supercharger on it. I have the Stack gauges and want to make sure my high and low warnings are set correctly.
Can anyone tell me what I should set the high and low warning levels at? I have Oil PSI, Water Temp, and Boost gauges. Also what are normal operating temps supposed to be so I can monitor it? Thanks

Oil psi swings widely based on rmp, so you want to set the low psi just above the idle pressure.
High isnt usually an issue unless something is plugged, so just use a point marginally above normal Water, I set the low at the temp I considered good to go. When the gauge changed color on track, thats when I could go full beans (assuming tires & brakes were ready also) I had my high set at 15-20 above my normal hot day run temp.

minimum oil pressure at idle is 14.5 psi
above idle running pressure 50+ psi ideal coolant temp is 90° with fans usually kicking in approx 105°. I had a defi link set up in a modified e46 m3 and actual readings were spot on to the above figures. |
