As far as anything being between the actual bold and the part of the hole where the bolt makes any contact, of course it gets coverage of product. I'm not sure I understand the emphasis on metal to metal here. If there's anything between the two, it's an amount that would be unmeasurable. If it's torque concerns, I had the same thought and have been checking the torque on my wheels weekly and nothings changed.
