The Kumho V710 comes in 275/40 and 295/40-17. The Hoosier A6 and R6 come in the same 275 size, 295/35-17, and 315/35-17's. Lots of good DOT R-compound options in those sizes. The car can fit 295's in the front and 315's at stock or near-stock ride height with the right offsets. With 17" wheels if you're running the Hoosiers, you'd be saving about $100 per set of tires with the same width availability as the 18's.

I know the 17x9 ET40 wheels do not fit over the OEM brakes...I've tried. Maybe with spacers but the inner barrel is sooo close.
