I'll be running OEM 18's until spring, and yes, I've read ben@tirerack's whole thread.

Realistically, you won't need winter tires in Texas. Most of the time they shut everything down here anyway, and by the next day or two the streets are clear. Except for dc I don't think you will get much snow from carolinas back to Texas. Save the money.
