Our tanks are plastic. There's really nothing to clean in these like there were in the old days of steel tanks.
I've never ever seen a tank in these cars that had debris or buildup of any kind inside. Our plastic tank systems stay very clean. The sock on the pump pickup will catch any larger debris and the screens on the injectors will catch the small stuff.
