If I got it right, the OEM rotor+hat weighs 22.5lbs. This means the Stoptech rotor+hat should weigh about 18.5lbs.

I've seen elsewhere that the corresponding replacement kits from RacingBrake and PerformanceFriction weigh about 18.5lbs.

So just wondering if StopTech is in the same ballpark.
I think I have the answer.

Both Bimmerworld and TireRack informed that they weigh in a roughly 23 lbs per side.

I'm surprised about this, as I don't see the benefit of StopTech over PFC, or even RacingBrake, just to save $200 (I believe the PFCs run $1000 for a set) when an additional $200 for the PFCs also buys you a 9 lbs savings (+ maybe another 6 lbs in rotational mass).
