Just so there is no confusion: There is no U.S. recall for M3 models of the E9X for the battery cable.
EDIT 1/25/17: There is now a new BMW (U.S. at least) recall for the battery cable for E9X M3 models produced between December 1, 2009 and April 10, 2011. This latest recall is documented under BMW TSB: SIB612616. See this
thread here for more details.
In the U.S., owners whose E9X M3's were built before December 1, 2009 or after April 10, 2011 still have no recall coverage for this repair as they are neither included in the older non-M3 recall under SIB610213 nor this newer M3 specific recall under SIB612616.
