Depends on how much the torque drops away, but given the flattish nature of the curve I'd say you'd still get more performance by redlining to 8400 as your torque at the wheels at 8400 in lower gear will still be higher than corresponding RPM in the next higher gear. Definitely I'd say on the MT, still likely on the DCT even with its closer gear spacing (except 5th to 6th, which are very closely spaced)...

Interesting the same dip in torque between 2500-4000RPM exists on this RS46 as well - definitely looks like tuning though given how rich it is running at that point...that aside, the RS46 is definitely a monster though!
