The ECU box fan is installed inside the fusebox area, through the firewall and flows out into the DME/ECU compartment. I guess it stays off while the engine is colder but once the engine is up to temp and ambient temp is high, it turns on. Makes a humming noise that sounds like it's coming from the dash/glovebox from what I have read.

and nope paddles are still a no go lol ... so next up will be the clock spring replacement. If that doesn't remedy it, I might have the guys who did my RBs and DCT flash the Dinan DCT tune and have them check the paddle connections while they are at it. I am getting used to just using the shifter now anyways. I never used my paddles on my 335i.
