I had more-or-less the same issues when using the 'free' service. Since upgrading, my Spotify BT streaming has been flawless. I have no problems with the sound quality compared to other sources probably except with HD Radio.
By the way, I also have the iphone 5s but use the Viseeo BT adapter in my '08!

Yes mine is paid version and all the songs are synced 320 kbits. Does your Viseeo BT adapter uses the 3.5mm jack?
