Shocks are a wear and tear item. They wear out and you replace them. How long they last depends on the roads you drive them on and how you drive your car.
Any lowering spring will accelerate wear on the shock. The shock is always in a more compressed state with lowering springs than without so it wears it out faster than with the stock height.
