THIS. This is standard procedure even for the stock units. you must load the suspension before tightening(torqueing) the bolts on the chassis side.
You do not need to load suspension components that are monoballs or heim joints

They just rotate in the center.

Even poly thrust bushings don't need loading, the center pin rotates in the center off the bushing
