One more thing: don't think that a radar detector will make you immune to getting tickets or that they are a cop finder. Just because you pass a cop and the detector doesn't sound off doesn't mean its not working either -- the cop may not have had the radar on, or may not even have one.

Learn to drive by constantly looking out far ahead as possible for cops. This will also make you a better driver as it forces you to pay attention to the road, traffic and other hazards. I feel this, along with good judgment (common sense) will probably do more to avoid not only tickets but also accidents than anything else. Assuming of course you're not under the influence. Also, if you do this the detector almost becomes superfluous. However, the detector many times will alert a bit sooner if ou know how to interpret your detector properly.

Good luck to the OP and everyone else. Cheers.
