If gas mileage is even in the consideration don't you agree any of these cars are silly? For me gas mileage is not even in the stratosphere of mattering.
try looking at the gear ratios for the m3 dct and lexus and then apply the same statement about short gearing to the m3 and you see that the m3 also has no problem spinning out and applying torque down low
