Being that this is for storage when you cannot carry - how about a lock box in the trunk? With it in the trunk you can still be discrete about the exchange if that is a concern. Yeah I saw a solution called truck vault I think. They make a smaller one for a sedan size car. But man it takes up a lot of space. But yeah good points for sure.
