It utilizes AUX IN. Not the best but not the worse either.
Yes, I have not heard of Apple Carplay on CCC.
Steering wheels work with car play skipping. The skip tracks on the center unit does not work.

I've got the Joyeauto Carplay for CCC (wired). Install was smooth except there was no audio at all!
Turns out that the carplay harness tries to tap into the factory aux via the quadlock harness in the back of the head unit. If your car has the aux/usb option (6FL), your aux does not plug into the back of the head unit; it plugs into the mulf2 unit in the trunk. So I basically needed to pull the aux pins from the carplay harness and splice it into an aux cable with a 3.5mm plug which I then ran into the armrest to plug directly into the audio jack. Works perfect but definitely not plug and play. Just a word of warning for those looking for CCC carplay.
