This attack would work regardless of what encryption is used, unless BMW tightens down how long the key can take to respond, which probably isn't practical without burning more power and running down the battery faster.

The real way for BMW to "fix" this is to require you to actually use the key. Anyone know if there's a way to disable comfort access?
I'm only getting it because it's basically free once you get nav and two other things in the convenience package.
