It really depends on your personal preference.
I upgraded the CCC on me E90 M3 to CIC, but was considering going to NBT. The issue is the the latter would have cost more than 3x the price, at least when I was looking (although I understand people have sourced the parts for relatively cheap).
If you can find the necessary NBT parts for the same as a CIC kit, then definitely go NBT as it is overall a nicer system. Conversely, if you can find a CIC kit for significantly cheaper than a NBT kit, than go with the former. In my opinion, the substantial extra cost of the NBT is not worth it over the CIC (I recently picked up a 2017 X3 which is equipped with NBT, and definitely do not think it is a system worth $2000 CAD more than a CIC system).
