Strange. That wiring looks like it would easily come out of the shroud. I suspect the wiring will not come out if the fan motor easily. It looks like at a minimum you would have to remove the motor from the shroud so you can access however the wiring is sealed into the motor. Usually is is not easy to disconnect — it is soldered or crimped or both.
