You can pick up a windows laptop for dirt cheap. Like a d820 or t60. Then install win7 for a dedicated coding laptop. I've had instances where I ran VM's and somehow, the settings changed and I would eventually spend more time reconfiguring it.
Now I have an x220 tablet with all the coding stuff like ISTA suite
