how's the mileage and options compare? I think auction buyers of these cars are indifferent on years, and care more about mileage and condition and options. The reason is, if it's a BMW dealer they can always slap on a CPO to any vintage. if it's a 3rd party dealer, they probably feel like they can move the car with no issues.
I have noticed the same thing too (on quotes and through these threads)
