I only watch Indy 500 from the IRL series, and that's because I like how the engines sound . And no, I don't drive those cars, but what the heck is your point: Good racing? Dirt bikes have pretty good racing, but I don't like it, and don't watch it. And I'm a bike guy. I didn't buy my M3 because I needed the power; bought it because of the engine, and how it drives. There're a ton of cars more practical, reliable, and efficient, but wanted THAT one. Don't ask me to justify it because I can't. You get my point.

And talking about the 'sport' aspect, if F1 reinstates team orders (imagine how bad it'll be if it becomes official?), I'll probably stop watching it. I'm sure I can find more productive things to do with that time . Good day.
