I don't think it'd be very good for that. Without tactile feedback on the keyboard, forget touch typing. Besides- it'd have to be at an awkward viewing angle to type on it. It'd really doesn't seem useful for writing more than a couple sentences on. You also can't draw on the notes (critical if you're an engineering, chemistry, or medical student and still useful for many other majors).
