Good question ... the alloy has a shipping weight of 5 lbs, the steel wheel is 16 lbs
For me I didn't think the weight savings justified price difference of $100 for the steel wheel vs. $250 for alloy.
I did look into getting a used alloy wheel and there were none available at the time I was looking.
